While traveling and working remotely I dreamt of a place to live, work, and play by the ocean, only to realize I already had it back home. A place where work doesn't take precedence over fun and wellbeing, an inspiring environment that promotes interaction and shared experiences.
A Coliving is a modern form of shared housing tailored to this purpose. Our coliving space is comprised of 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a co-working space and plenty of common areas for guests to work, relax, socialize and create.
The house was built by our grandparents in the 50s and has always been our beach haven, a place where we gather family and friends to soak up the sun and the sea, surf and relax.
Perfectly situated in Alentejo's coastal region, Sines is located 150 kilometers south of Lisbon, approximately 1h45min by car. The coastline south of the city is part of the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina. To the north, lies the Reserva Natural da Lagoa de Santo André e da Sancha and Praia da Costa Norte, the starting point of the longest uninterrupted beach in Europe. 65 km of uninterrupted soft white sand and crisp Atlantic ocean, stretching from Sines to Setúbal.
Sines is the first and largest port area in Portugal, the main industrial and port logistics hub and the birthplace of fifteenth-century explorer Vasco da Gama. The region has a Mediterranean climate with mild, wet winters and warm, dry summers. We've been incredibly lucky to grow up in this unbelievable place, with year-round surfing, incredible food, and breathtaking landscapes. Now, we want you to join the fun, and still, we woul like it to continue to feel like home.
The most significant value of a coliving is access to a community. The house is at its best when inhabited by a group of people during an extended period (weeks or months). Manas Coliving will hopefully bring together people that embody the "manas" spirit of sisterhood, freedom and savoir-vivre. "Manas" take good care of themselves and each other, they help and support each other in achieving their goals, while bearing in mind that life is too short not to enjoy it to the fullest.
Our beautiful coast makes for the perfect playground for all kinds of ocean based activities. However, surfing has a very special place in our hearts. This part of Portugal features some of the least crowded surf spots in the country. There are many surf spots available within a 30 minute drive from the house, from beginner to advanced. We can help you arrange equipment, classes or local guides who can show you the best waves Alentejo has to offer.
